Istanbul 2005

The essence of Istanbul is its condition as a bridge between the East and West. What I did not expect is to find this city and its peoples so much turned to the West. The scenes that one comes across on the streets could take place in any European capital. On the same time, the ubiquitous minarets show its religious history and the roots of the Turkish culture.
